children of Light
Welcome to our microschool, a transformative learning environment designed to empower your child to become their best self.
Our curriculum is child-led and inquiry-based, offering customized academic learning that caters to each student’s unique needs and interests. We believe in balancing autonomy and collaboration, fostering a sense of responsibility and community in our learners. We are using the Prenda Microschool model for academics.
Through Socratic discussions, we make room for all perspectives and teach students how to think critically and independently, rather than what to think. We also offer personal empowerment through Human Design, which enables our students to understand and embrace their unique genius, and we encourage and celebrate their unique qualities.
Metaphysics and meditation are integral parts of our program, as we believe they contribute to a well-rounded education. We also focus on child development and resilience, equipping our students with the tools they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Finally, our certified Quantum Human Design Family Coach guides our students in learning how to live with passion, purpose, and service, cultivating a generation of empathetic and driven individuals.

Ivins, UT
What is your microschool called?
Children of Light, inspired by The Essene Gospel of Peace, and how Jesus refers to mankind in it.
Is Children of Light religiously themed?
No. However, there is an emphasis on metaphysics and spiritual mysticism (the divine within) for a holistic educational environment.
What are the hours of Children of Light?
Monday through Thursday from 10am until 2pm. We will follow the same holiday/days off calendar as the public school system.
What grades/ages can participate?
2nd through 4th grades, 7 to 9/10, as a general guideline. Exceptions might be made depending on alignment in other ways.
What will a typical day look like?
We will start every day with meditation, setting intentions, and affirmations. There will be no pledge of allegiance to a flag, only a pledge of allegiance to one's own highest alignment and harmony with nature and mankind.
After setting the tone, the rest of the day will be made up of a mixture of the following:
We use the Prenda World Education platform.
-
- Daily academic progress planning tools
- Mastery-based curriculum
- Learning tool licenses for 20+ tools
- Access to on-demand math tutoring
- Virtual field trips
- Quarterly Prenda-wide student challenges
- Move/Dance/Stretch/Nature Walk
Connect Mode: Topic varies depending on day of the week (M: Community, T:Autonomy, W:Mindset, Th: Purpose). Games, videos, discussions, stories, activities that reinforce the components of empowerment.
Conquer Mode: Students set daily goals and then share them aloud. Students work in online learning tools independently.
Collaborate Mode: A student leader helps the class through one of several collaborate options (history exploration, science project, math puzzle, Socratic discussion, debate, service, poetry tea time etc).
Create Mode: Students select a project from the create library and work independently, in small groups, or as a class.
Struggle and Success wrap up: everyone shares one struggle from the day and one success. Guide models celebrating struggles as well as successes. This helps destigmatize struggle and creates an environment of psychological safety.
What is the Children of Light mission statement?
At Children of Light microschool, our mission is to cultivate an environment where children can fully embody their authentic selves alongside their academic journey. We reject the notion that children need to be shaped and molded; instead, we provide them with the necessary boundaries and guidance to thrive.
We prioritize radical authenticity and individualism over homogenization, fostering a community that celebrates each child's unique identity and story. Ultimately, our mission is to empower children to remain or become confident, self-aware, and compassionate individuals who contribute positively to the world by embracing their own uniqueness, gifts, and passions.
We focus on building high self-worth by addressing behavior rather than labeling the child. We believe that misbehavior is a form of communication, signaling unmet needs. Our students are encouraged to embrace their innate lovability, value, power, and capability through exploration and experimentation, all within a framework of attentive, supportive, and encouraging mentorship.
We are committed to raising an army of love, one child at a time.
What is the exchange for Children of Light?
$8,000 for the school year, and a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $222 to reserve your spot and put together your child's Quantum Human Design report. For those eligible for the Utah Fits All scholarship funds, there will be quarterly disbursements. Those paying out of pocket may choose monthly or weekly payments.
What will students need to bring every day?
Lunch and snacks, plus a laptop or tablet. Dress in clean, comfortable clothing, preferably free of lots of logos or busy patterns to keep stimulus low.
How many students will there be?
We are hoping for 10. We will for sure max out at 15.
Who is guiding Children of Light?
Angela DiGiovanni, mother and Triple Certified Quantum Human Design and Family Coach is the founder and guide for Children of Light. She is synthesizing the Prenda microschool platform (academic portion) with Quantum Human Design and spiritual mysticism for a holistic educational experience and learning environment. As public, homogenized educational systems are outdated and crumbling, she has a vision for an individualized and self-empowered educational model to support a collective shift into a more conscious, heart-centered future.
What is Quantum Human Design?
Quantum Human Design is the science of differentiation. It's a way of understanding our patterns and purpose in life, how our unique energy moves through the world. It's like a blueprint for how we experience ourselves and others.
Human Design is an intersection of science and spirituality, oftentimes revealing to you what you already intrinsically know about yourself. It reveals your energetic blueprint and gives you permission to create a meaningful and authentically aligned life.
One's human design is formulated with their birth date, time, and location, giving specific geometric coordinates to your entry into this world, affecting your life path, working style, relational style, among other things. Quantum Human Design is a synthesis of Eastern and Western Astrology, the Chinese I-Ching, the Hindu Chakra system, the Judaic Kabbalah, and Quantum Physics.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to life, and that is why so many people find themselves unhappy in a world of sameness and homogenization. What works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another person.
Angela is a trained and certified Quantum Human Design Coach + Family Coach, as well as trained in child development. Her mission is to unlock every student's personal blueprint codes and bring practical meaning to them, to bring out the best in every child along their academic journey.
